The last week I wanted buy engine oil, but I had an  important questions, what type? Which oil?? This a notes for choose :

- SAE : What is this? SAE (Society Automotive Engineers) clasification is an american table for make out engine oils, see a table:

For example SAE 10W40, first number indicates cold oil viscosity , for cold engine starts, in oil test viscosity mesaure is a -18ºC , is a Minimum working temperature.
W word is w from winter related to the above.
And the second number indicate, an oil flow when these work on hot condicionts, for this number, in oil tes viscosity mesaure is a 100 ºC.

- API: The second oil test and same importance than SAE. API is acronym from Americam Petroleum Institute, represents a world important petroleum manufacturers. This clasification sets a oil conditions for good lubricate in engine.  See a table:

 

 

First word (S) indicate: engine type, for motorcycles. And the second word indicate service requirement. Only see a fabrication engine year for example.
